Pastor Dwight Tomlinson

I am writing to recommend Ryan and Elisabeth Strother as an addition to your missionary family.  Elisabeth grew up in our church and Ryan has served as an assistant pastor on our paid staff for several years.  Brother Strother has taught in our high school, organized and directed our Sunday school, and served as our Financial Director for the past three years. They have two pre-school age sons and are a model family in every way.  Their departure will leave a gaping hole in the ministry here at Liberty Baptist Church but we believe it is the will of God for them to go to the mission field.

For the past two years, God has been dealing with their hearts about going to the country of England.  As you know, England is one of the most difficult fields in the English-speaking world.  It is the country that first sent America the Gospel, but now it is the place that needs our help.  I have prayed and counseled with the Strothers for the past two years about this decision and they are convinced it is God's plan for their lives to go.  I believe in them and whole-heartedly support them in this great task.

I normally preach on a mission field somewhere each year.  I often tell the national churches that the churches back in America send our very best to become missionaries.  We do not send our "leftovers;" we send the finest young couples we have to sacrifice their lives in bringing the Gospel to other countries.  There is no doubt in my mind that this is true when it comes to this dear couple.  Not only will I greatly miss Ryan and Elisabeth as my friends and co-workers, but also I will miss their precious sons, Samuel and James.  Pastor, this couple will make a great addition to your missions family.  Please give them a call, or feel free to call me if you have any questions at all.

Pastor Christopher Strother

It is a joy for me to be able to write to you and recommend Ryan and Elisabeth Strother as missionaries for you to support.  Many places in our world are in desperate need of Bible believing, Bible preaching churches, and England is no different.  Our Mother Country, which was once the light, has now fallen into darkness, and my brother and sister-in-law are answering God's call to rekindle the flame of evangelism and church planting in London, England.  There is a desire in their hearts to serve the Lord in this place.  I know that his vision is to see churches planted and use those churches to reach the diverse crowd of London in hopes that men will go back to their home countries and win their own to Christ.

Ryan Strother has ever been a man of integrity and character, and Elisabeth has always shown herself to be a godly lady who loves the Lord, her husband, and her children.  They are both doctrinally pure, carry godly convictions, and are prepared to "hold the line."  I can't think of a finer couple to represent Jesus Christ and your church in London.  Should you choose to invest in their ministry, as we will, I believe there will be a great return paid to your account at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

I'm in a straight betwixt as I'm excited to see them follow the will of God for their lives, but I'm also saddened to see my brother, sister-in-law, and nephews go half-way around the world.  This is close to my heart and is probably somewhat biased, so I would ask you to also consider the recommendations of Pastor Tomlinson and Pastor Chappell.  Will you please pray about and consider supporting these wonderful people?  If I can answer any questions for you about the Strothers don't hesitate to contact me.  Thank you for your consideration.
